Meal Price Increase for Upcoming School Year
The federal law governing child nutrition programs will require Burnet CISD to increase paid lunch prices by 10 cents beginning with the 2014-15 school year. The law for Equity in Lunch Pricing was introduced in 2010 as part of the Healthy, Hunger-free Kids Act. It requires school officials to set paid meal prices at a minimum level to ensure the government reimbursement for free and reduced meals is not subsidizing paid meals.
