In the News!
The Burnet High School Esprit de Corps competed in the UIL Region 26 Marching Contest this past Saturday at Giddings High School. The Esprit de Corps consists of the Burnet High School Band and Highlandettes. The EDC earn 1st Division ratings from all three judges. This marks the 24th consecutive year that the EDC has earned a 1st Division rating at the UIL Region Marching Contest. The 1st Division rating earned by the EDC qualified them for the UIL Area D Marching Contest on Saturday, October 25, in Cedar Park at Gupton Stadium, 200 Gupton Way, near Vista Ridge High School.
The EDC will perform in preliminary competition at 1:30 pm. The top 10 bands will be chosen for Finals and that competition will begin at 7:30 pm. At the conclusion of the Finals, the top four bands will be chosen to move on to the UIL State Contest in San Antonio. Come out, support the Esprit de Corps, and cheer loud!

The Heartbeat of BCISD
BCISD Plumber Johnnel Mosley has been selected as the October Heartbeat Team member. Johnnel was quite surprised when Superintendent Keith McBurnett announced his name in front of the maintenance staff early Wednesday morning. Read all about it here.
Board Meeting News
BHS Students of the Month Elizabeth Williams and Andy Young were recognized at the October School Board Meeting. Teachers Kim Timmons and Amanda Petrosky introduced the two Seniors speaking of their many talents and the way they demonstrate those talents at BHS. Read more School Board meeting news here.
Order Calling for Bond Election

Early voting continues through Friday, October 31. Burnet County residents can early vote at the Burnet County Courthouse or the Marble Falls Courthouse South Annex. Llano or Williamson County residents can find their voting locations at Llano County Elections Link for Llano or Williamson County Elections Link for Williamson County. For Burnet County residents, early voting times are from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. except on Thursdays when the times are extended to 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 25 when the polls will be open from 9:00 a.m. – noon.

BTX Join the Journey will host the second annual "Truth about Drugs" community meeting on Wednesday, November 5th, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., in BHS auditorium. Keith Reed, Program Coordinator with Teen-Safe will address parents and community members regarding the recognition of drug abuse and finding resources to overcome addiction. Students from Kindergarten through 12th grade will attend a separate session where they will learn about the dangers of various types of drugs and how to help friends who possibly use drugs. Please Join us as we honor those who served
Bertram Elementary and R. J. Richey Elementary will host their annual Veterans Day Ceremonies on Tuesday, November 11th. The program at Bertram Elementary and at Bulldog stadium will both begin at 10 a.m. Lunch will be served following the ceremony. Click here to read more about each of the events.
Veterans who withdrew from high school to serve their country can be awarded a belated high school diploma. A completed application form with a copy of the veteran's discharge notification must be returned to the BCISD Central Office by Friday, October 31.
