Karen Davee - April Heartbeat Team Member

Quest High School Instructional Partner Karen Davee  broke out in tears when Principal Doug Marvin announced her as the April Heartbeat Team Member in front of the campus staff and students. The Quest faculty members sharing in the excitement are pictured here with Karen.  Read more about Karen and the many ways she displays "heart" in her job here.   
 
School Board Election News
The Burnet CISD Board of Trustees Election will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015.  Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. The candidates running for a position on the Board are:

The official Notice of Election contains Early Voting and Election Day polling locations and hours.  

Plans are well underway for the 2nd Annual Join the Journey Wellness Fair scheduled for Thursday, April 30th from 5 – 7 p.m.  This year’s event will be held at R. J. Richey Elementary to allow for more room and more activities including:
  • Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Glucose, BMI Checks
  • Dental and Eye Care Information
  • Substance Abuse Prevention Information
  • Car Seat Safety, Fatal Vision Goggles, and other demonstrations by the Burnet PD and Fire Department
  • Seton Caravan
  • Healthy Snack Bar and Kona Ice
  • Taekwondo Demo, Obstacle Course, Bike safety
 Breakout sessions including:
  • Gateway drugs and the many addictions they can lead to
  • An overview of the BHS Shattered Dreams program – how lives were impacted
 Great prizes given throughout the night including an iPad mini and Fitbits.  Please help us spread the word.  Something for all ages – Bring out the family.  See flyer for more details.
